Testing wooden poles
All of our wooden pole models are structurally calculated, and our standard models have also been strength tested at the Mikkeli University of the Applied Sciences to ensure conformance with the calculation models.
Parallel tests have been conducted at Valmont North American Structures’ test laboratory in Valley, Nebraska. Tehomet also tests products with its own equipment to verify the strength properties of new models.
Test setup
During strength testing, the wooden pole’s base tube is attached to the test bench, and the top of the pole is attached to a hoist via a loadcell. The pole is subjected to greater strain until breaking point, using the intervals specified in the EN 40-3-2 standard.
